The pandemic was a critical time for everyone and learning how to stay connected to loved ones became increasingly challenging. Uber, one of our longest standing clients, developed a new product to help their customers feel closer to friends and family during a period when they were forced to stay far apart. This product was called Uber Connect.
Over the course of a month, my team and I developed a collection of custom-animated illustrations and paired them with critical messages to help communicate Uber's new service. This service made it easier than ever to safely and securely send packages, items and goods to those in need.
The ads highlight a variety of no-contact delivery snapshots that are illustrated in Uber's classic style that are then gently animated, providing a calm respite from the chaos of the pandemic. The global campaign, both in video and static executions, was scaled for social platforms across 15 languages and 3 continents.
The concept proved to be highly effective for Uber and amassed over 2.4M impressions in its first week. Paired with a massive 73% increase in CTR, the ads were highly effective and educational for Uber riders and provided imperative information about critical services throughout the peak of the pandemic and beyond.
